Wouldn’t it be a great honor if your country’s representative win an award from the prestigious Cannes Film Festival?
And not just any ordinary category but as the Best Director In Competition beating out premier directors like Quentin Tarantino and Ang Lee.

When the news reached half way around the world, it was greatly appreciated by people. Dante Mendoza, who is an Indipendent Film Director, is one of the Filipino film makers who are brave enough to enter such competition. Some say that Mendoza is really fond of International Film Awards, and thus his fondness of film making.
He believed in his talents and films, he believed that Filipnos can be really competitive in this industry.

Sure, Filipinos were really happy about this. Even me, who barely knew him as a director, I was proud of what he had achieved for himself and the country.
But just this morning, I’ve read from our daily newspaper that some people are dissing him, saying things about him which are really irrelevant. It was disappointing that you’d hear comments like this from your fellow Filipinos. Most of the it was pertaining to his physical looks such as he went under surgery to fix his chin so on and so forth.

I don’t know what are people’s intention by saying things like this after he won in Cannes.
The thing that immediately crossed my mind was envy. And it’s really sad to read comments like this after a fellowman had won an international award.

As for his film “Kinatay”, he said that he doesn’t want it to be screened by the MTRCB.

Why?

He doesn’t want any scenes to be chopped off and he doesn’t want it to be shown in public theaters since it’s a sensitive film. Most likely, his film would be featured in universities like in the UP Theater.
Why not, it would benifit the film students.

After an exhausting concert, David Archuleta had energy left to record a video blog about the concert and thank all those who went out there in the concert grounds, with us.

He can’t “salamat” enough to all the fans! Wow!

We love you David and we are really thankful that you came half way around the world to see us and play music. We do hope that you come back soon and perform again.

DA thanks vlog

David’s so exhausted but it didn’t took him another day to thank all those who supports him. I think this is probably around 12midnight or 1AM in the morning.

You and David Cook have a safe trip back home.

Just had time to blog about the concert last night and take in all what had happened.

I don’t want to blog about how the way people in front of us stood on their chairs and we weren’t able to see the stage or even the David’s shadows. No, I’m not gonna blog about how they stood on their chairs when people at the back started to chant “walang tatayo”.

Instead, I’m gonna blog how amazing the concert was. From the moment David Archuleta came up on stage and started off singing Touch my Hand the crowd just went crazy!
In our case, we can’t see the stage because of the people standing on their seats, I just listened to him and glance at the monitors every now and then. It was enough for me to hear his voice. To hear that it was the same voice on TV and on the records.

Wow! I think I almost lose my voice screaming.

Here are the songs that he sang last night:
1. Touch my Hand
2. Barriers
3. A little too not over you
4. You can
5. My Hands
6. Your eyes don’t lie
7. To be with you
8. Don’t let go
9. Waiting for yesterday
10. Stand by me
11. A thousand miles
12. Angels
13. Zeo Gravity
14. Crush

He sang for 1 hour, non-stop! I just wish he sang Running hihihi. That’s one of my favorites. But he did sang Zero Gravity which is not yet released, or so I thought hahaha!
The crowd sang along with him in all of the songs that he performed! Such an amazing crowd!

People were so fast, they’ve uploaded videos on youtube about David Archuleta’s performances in the concert.

Here is the video of Zero Gravity. He was jumping and running around, he’s enjoying! And so did us!

At the end of David Cook’s performance, David Archuleta came back on stage and sang with him in the end of A Daily Anthem.
Here’s the video, I was recording this one but got a crap one. Luckily someone had a good video of this.
Got so overwhelmed when they’re both on stage. Almost cried with this one and realized that the show was about to end.

Hope both Davids had a great time here in the Philippines, because we all sure did!

Come back here whenever you can! We all be looking forward to that.

Oh by the way, check out the name of the one who uploaded the videos, he got all the songs!

Yesterday was the Meet and Greet of David Archuleta at the SM Mall of Asia.
He only stayed on stage for 5 minutes. And hell! That was the best 5 minutes of my life so far!
I was really “star strucked”

He’s sooo cuuuuteee! And much taller than what I expected. He was of the same height as Magic 89.9 DJs. He was smiling all the time and the crowd just went insane!

We thought that he’s going to sing maybe just one song but he did not. Maybe he’s reserving his voice for the concert this saturday.

Here are some of the pics that my sister took, because she’s the one holding the camera.
